I have this pair of shoes. They're by no means the best shoes in the world, but they're mine. They're not insulated, but they're pre-roughed-up leather that I don't have to take care of. They have no cushioning, but they get me where I'm going. I loves them.
Tonight, they took me over six miles. Yes, you read that right. Woo!
I got myself all dressed up for the weather. (Which means I wore what I had on already. It's warm out.) I then went out for a walk. On the other side of campus I ran into one of my friends from work. He was out for a walk as well, it seemed. We then took the obvious course of action: we walked together.
Discussion was the order of the evening. We talked about all sorts of things. We talked about work, we talked about girlfriends. We talked about how insane we really were. See, we walked all the way to the outskirts of the east side of town. I had started on the west side. We went into the Wal-Mart and looked around. I decided I need a bike, and will probably get one soon.
Upon leaving the store, the magnitude of our undertaking really hit us. We both were somewhat tired, but had three miles of walking ahead of us. Good thing we had the discussion to keep us occupied.
Anyhow, I got sidetracked. This is about the shoes. They took me all the way over there and back. They deserve a rest. In light of that, I'm now wearing my slippers.
