It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to...

Why the hell do we still have a two-party system? Why do we even have political parties?

If I understand correctly, the original system was because people couldn't keep up with issues. To an extent, that may still be true. The thing is, if you're uninformed now, it's your own damned fault. There is a wealth of information about everything online.

I say get rid of the parties. Force people to think. Maybe you won't have this shit where people think "Republicans did well before, so I'll vote for them again!" Maybe keep confidence in a person, but parties suck from that standpoint.

Not only that, but really, is there much significantly different between the two parties? They differ on a few "key issues" (what people care about during the debate) but they have almost identical views when it comes to anything else. Gah. I'd be in much better shape to rant successfully if I had some sleep. I may just go get some now...
